SeaGen
Winner 2009: Best Business Innovation
SeaGen is the world's first commercial-scale tidal turbine. It is rare for a completely new type of large scale energy generation technology to be successfully demonstrated. This completely new invention, developed in Bristol by Marine Current Turbines, produces clean green electricity from a previously untapped huge marine energy resource. It is therefore something unusual and of great potential importance not just in the UK but world-wide.
