Rural development and bio-energy grant schemes

The English Woodland Grant Scheme provides a number of grants for woodland management and establishment. Grants for planting broad leaved woodland can be up to £1800 per hectare.

Enhanced Capital Allowances for Biomass Heating and CHP
In addition to the exemption from the climate change levy, certain types of biomass heat and CHP may also be eligible for Enhanced Capital Allowances. This ECA scheme enables businesses to claim 100% first year capital allowances on investments in energy saving equipment. Businesses are now able to write off the whole cost of their investment against their taxable profits of the period during which they make the investment.
